Beyonce's corset makes Las Vegas radio ga-ga
November 15, 2007
An advertisement hoarding with Beyonce Knowles in a sparkly corset has prompted some residents to complain that it is distracting them.
Las Vegas' local radio station KWNZ commissioned the massive advertising hoarding, but did not count on the controversy that Ms Knowles' corset would court.
Residents have claimed that the image is just too sexy and are insisting that the picture be taken down.
But city officials have supported Beyonce's corset photo, with spokesman Chris Good saying: "It complies with all the locational criteria that are set out in our code of conduct."
Meanwhile Scott Seidenstricker, manager of KWNZ, said: "The billboards were taken from publicity shots and this is the way those people perform. So to show them in a jogging suit probably wouldn't be the right thing."
Despite this, Ward Ryan, a Vegas resident, has collected 100 signatures in a petition against the corset shots on billboards, claiming they were installed without permission.
