Actress Emily Blunt can currently be seen wearing corsets on the silver screen in the new film Young Victoria.
Brit actress Emily Blunt has expressed her admiration for Queen Victoria, who she plays in a new film.
Emily has the title role in Young Victoria and said she took the job very seriously showing her commitment by wearing vintage corsets for the project.
Speaking to Hello magazine, the actress joked about having to wear realistic costumes from Victoria's life.
Commenting on her cloak, corset and crown combination, she said: "The big cloak is like carrying a bear on my shoulders, so that's interesting."
Despite committing to the film with convincing outfits, Blunt told the magazine that telling the true story of Victoria's early life was something she really wanted to do.
"Contrary to popular belief, when she was younger she was feisty, emotional and intelligent, a vibrant person. I think people mistake her for being this widowed, mourning queen. So it's exciting we're going to refresh people's opinion of her," she said.
Blunt is no stranger to corsets, having appeared in a string of period dramas, including Henry VIII, Boudica and Foyle's War.
Her next high-profile role is rumoured to be in an upcoming version of Jonathan Swift's Gulliver's Travels, which no doubt will include some stunning costumes.
