Bridal corsets on display in Norfolk
February 17, 2009
A selection of wedding gowns, dresses and bridal corsets were placed on display in a village church over the weekend in order to mark Valentine's Day.
St Peter's Church in Clippesby near Yarmouth was used as a venue to exhibit a wide range of wedding garments in all shapes, sizes and colours.
One donated gown was made of red satin, while another dated back to the 1930s.
Kerry Sharp, who helped to organise the event, said that the festival was a spur-of-the-moment idea.
"We had a girls' night out and it came about how nice it would be to wear our wedding dresses again, and we came up with the idea of this as the next best thing," she explained to the Norfolk Eastern Daily Press.
"I'm just amazed at the response - we didn't advertise but word just got out. In the end, we had to turn dresses down through lack of space and mannequins."
