Britney's corset costume swap revealed

While critics have been panning Britney Spears' comeback performance at the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs), including criticising her choice of outfit, insiders say the star was planning on wearing a corset, but changed her mind.
"Britney was supposed to wear a matching corset that she opted out of wearing at the last minute," a source told People magazine. "She was just plain nervous because of all the hype and she's embarrassed."
But it was not only leaving out the sparkly back corset and exposing her not-too-toned tummy that may have been a bad fashion choice, as certain websites claim that her wobbly dancing may have been due to a broken heel.
It may have been nothing to do with corsets or footwear, as other critics are blaming the fact that Britney was upset to hear comedienne Sarah Silverman rehearsing her monologue just before going on stage, in which she criticised Brit vitriolically.
Whatever the reason behind the faded pop tart's shaky performance of new single Gimme More, Kayne West was surprised that Ms Spears was ever given the gig of opening the VMAs.
The night before, the R & B star said: "I can't believe she would perform. She hasn't had a hit record in years."
