Cadbury's chocolate corsets a real treat
November 16, 2006
In celebration of its centenary in Canada, Cadbury hosted a chocolate fashion show, complete with chocolate corsets.
Promoted as a tribute to the two things that women love most - chocolate and fashion - a number of artists created edible outfits inspired by the fashions of the early 20th century.
Thankfully, however, all chocolate used in the display had been specially suited to ensure it did not melt when it came in contact with skin, meaning the models were not turned into a sticky mess.
Among the confectionary clothing on display was a '60s Vegas showgirl wedding gown complete with dozens of roses and pearls sculpted from white chocolate, an Edwardian dandy in chocolate T-shirt and polka dot shorts and even a '50s pin-up girl dressed in chocolate corset with a parasol covered in chocolate-dipped flowers.
All costumes used in the show will be put on display at the Cadbury Museum on Gladstone Avenue, Toronto.
