Canadian wins Miss Exotic World thanks to corset
June 29, 2009
A woman from Vancouver has won the Best Debut title at the 18th annual Miss Exotic World pageant thanks largely to her corset.
Melody Mangler, who created a burlesque routine where she transformed from Little Bo Peep to Venus, ripped open her corset at the end of the performance and butterflies flew out.
According to the Vancouver Sun, Melody said that she gets her inspiration from Los Angeles and New York and claimed that it was a "fantasy world" that everybody loved.
The pageant is considered to be the Oscars of the burlesque world and Melody claimed she was "excited" to win for Canada.
"I'm so proud to have been there to represent Vancouver and my community," she added.
Although it is not clear exactly how the butterflies came out of the corset, it was sure to create quite the spectacle.
The 26-year-old Canadian began performing six years ago and she is now eligible to compete for the Miss Exotic World Reigning Queen of Burlesque in 2010.
