Celebrities auction corsets for charity
October 25, 2007
Actresses Julianne Moore, Jessica Biel and Scarlett Johansson, as well as singer Christina Aguilera and Desperate Housewives stars Teri Hatcher and Eva Longoria Parker have all designed unique corsets to be auctioned off for charity.
Their one-of-a-kind corset designs all have personal touches and can not be bought anywhere else in the world.
Clothes Off Our Backs is the charity that will benefit from the sale of the celebrity corsets, with funding going to help disadvantaged children across the world.
Organisers of the annual auction hope that even more money will be raised than last year, when Charlize Theron's corset fetched $18,000 and $10,000 was spent on Nicole Kidman's corset.
Julianne Moore, whose creation is a corset inspired by the peacock, said: "I love them all and it's a great cause. I think you should bid on any and all of them frankly."
Meanwhile Ms Longoria revealed how much she enjoyed creating her corset. "You get to draw and sketch and I sketched some tulle at the top and it has all of this beading," she said.
Corset fans are expected to bid the most for Scarlett Johansson's design next year.
