Corset given Mexican wave
May 30, 2007
A corset was not the only thing supporting Eugenia Leon as she sang her heart out to 3,000 adoring fans in Mexico city, as the Mexican singer had to be escorted on stage by two men due to a knee injury.
Often described as the best singer in Mexico, Leon was given a standing ovation by the crowd in the Teatro Metropolitan for carrying off a wonderful performance despite her injury.
She was carried on dressed in a black corset teamed with a red jacket and trousers and proceeded to run through her greatest hits.
The corseted starlet began her career in the 1970s and after winning Spain's OTI festival, she has toured the world playing at prestigious events such as Pacific Music, Japan Festival, the New York Latin Festival and the Seville Expo.
Leon has most recently played in the UK at the Pizza Express Jazz Club, where she may not have worn a corset if going for a few too many helpings of Italian gourmet.
