Corset-maker fave to win BB
July 30, 2007
A corset-maker has become the favourite to win the Australian version of Big Brother, according to bookmakers.
Professional corset-maker Zach has become the $1.57 favourite to win the reality show, which would make him the first 'intruder' to triumph since the series began.
The corset fan is left as one of the final two, along with hairdresser Aleisha who is no longer favourite to win at $2.25, after Gretel and Travis were evicted.
The two finalists sat shrieking "What are we doing here?!," as they heard the news. "It's cool that it's a girl and a gay guy in the Final!" said Aleisha, while Zach mused: "This is not a dream
surely. It just doesn't feel real."
While ratings have not been as high in the seventh series, bookmakers have reported record-breaking betting trends. Centrebet says punters have laid over $100,000 worth of bets on the Big Brother final. "The show might be struggling in the ratings, but the punting phenomenon continues," said Centrebet's Neil Evans.
Meanwhile if the corset-maker does win, he will receive $450,000 worth of prize money.
