Corset star sticks up for animals
September 24, 2007
Not only is burlesque star Dita Von Teese supporting a new campaign for a charity against animal cruelty, but she will also be supported by a corset to do it.
Ms von Teese will be wearing a corset, stockings and high heels in her role as a naughty schoolteacher in a TV advert to encourage pet owners to neuter their animals.
The corseted lecturer will advise pet owners that nearly four million dogs and cats in the US have to be put down every year because there are not enough homes for them.
Ms von Teese urges: "If you're considering adding a dog or cat to your family, please adopt from your local animal shelter."
Starting this week, corset fans will be able to see the PETA commercial as one of a series produced to instruct animal owners to be more thoughtful.
Wearing even less than a corset, Alicia Silverstone recently promoted vegetarianism in a PETA campaign totally naked.
