Corset swapped for corporate role
June 26, 2007
It has been announced that actress Stella Gonet is to join the cast of Holby City as character Jayne Grayson, the hospital's new ambitious chief executive officer determined to make her mark on the hospital positively.
While the 44-year-old actress has been spotted in the hospital corridors before when she played Dr Claire Wainwright in the first ever series of Casualty, she is more likely to be known for her corset roles.
Her most recent appearance on the small screen was in ITV's adaptation of Jane Austen's Persuasion this year. But she is probably best known for her role in The House of Elliott, where she played Beatrice Elliott from 1991 to 1994. No stranger to corset fashion trends, along with Louise Lombard as Evie, the drama series featured sisters struggling to keep up a fashion business in the tough fashion trade of 1920s London.
But for the actress's new role, it is unlikely that Ms Gonet will be in anyway involved with corsets, unless they are of the medical kind.
Ms Gonet told Digital Spy: "I am absolutely delighted to be hiring and firing at Holby. I am loving working with the cast - they are so warm, welcoming and committed."
The first time we will see the actress in her new role as Jane Grayson will be in mid-July.
