Corset-wearing Peggy crops up in Eastenders

Peggy Mitchell gives fans a reminder of what she looked like in her Carry On days in an upcoming episode of Eastenders when she unwittingly unveils an old photograph of herself wearing a satin corset.
The landlady of the Old Vic, who is played by national treasure Barbara Windsor, is running for Walford Council and decides to invite a group of journalists to her pub to watch her accept a cheque for charity in a bid to boost her profile before the local elections.
However, scheming Janine Butcher has secretly swapped it for a racy photo of Peggy wearing a revealing overbust corset, leaving the Mitchell matriarch rather red-faced.
Commenting on the storyline, a BBC spokeswoman said: "We wanted a story that allowed Peggy to fight for what she believes in, and we felt that running for local government afforded her the platform to speak passionately and proudly about the community."
