Corsets grace the Golden Globes red carpet

The stars were out in force for the beginning of the red carpet season at Monday night's Golden Globes.
And as it now typical with such events, the fashion police were out in force to analyse and assess the stars' latest style efforts.
Jennifer Love Hewitt, star of The Truth About Love and I Know What You Did Last Summer, attracted some attention in her corset-style, gold-coloured Georges Chakra dress.
However, she came in for criticism from some observers, who felt that the look was a little overdone, although fashion expert Nicole Phelps, executive director of Style.com, noted that corsets were proving popular among Hollywood's elite young actors.
"You'd be surprised at how many young stars wear corsets when they are out on the town," she told the Philadelphia Inquirer.
However, perhaps the elaborate gold-coloured corsets are best avoided, with subtler colours and patterns preferred.
