Corsets hitting the mark in New York
February 12, 2007
Corsets have formed a major part of this year's New York Fashion Week over the past few days.
ABC7 News reports that there is something of a "vintage vibe" occurring at the event this year and it seems that corsets are at the forefront of that approach.
It had been anticipated that corsets would feature strongly at the event, given their increasing popularity and return to favour among fashionistas of late.
Among the designers using corsets to show off their flair was Derek Lam, who produced a number of microminis and corset bodices, demonstrating the sensual nature of the corset.
As well as corsets themselves, there have also been a variety of corset-style dresses on show, as the shape of the corset continues to gain in its importance to the world's top designers.
