Corsets set for a big future

This year could well be the year of the corset, if predictions over the future of the fashion industry prove to be correct.
An article in the Yorkshire Post has pointed to the return of body-conscious dressing as being a major fad in 2007 - a fashion statement that the corset is perfectly designed for.
There is something of a 1980s revival occurring and the corset looks to be at the centre of this new movement. From corset style tops - such as the one currently being sported by tennis ace Maria Sharapova at the Australian Open this week - to actual corsets, there can be no doubt that they are now a must-have look.
So as people head to the gym to work off their Christmas excesses, many will have at least one eye on slimming down so as to make the most of the corseted fashion trend that looks set to be a big feature this summer.
