Corsets set to star in New York

As New York Fashion Week gets underway, corsets are set to be a major influence in this year's styles.
From coats with intricate lace corset-style detail, to the sensual garments themselves, corsets are having a big impact on the world of fashion at the moment and this year's New York Fashion Week is unlikely to miss the trend.
New York is one of the fashion capitals of the world and its fashion week is always watched closely by fashionistas and designers to see what this year's big ideas will be.
And this year they can expect to see the corset having an important impact on designs, as recent trends have seen the garment come right back to the top of the fashion tree. The popularity of corsets that was first seen in the early 1980s, when the Madonna corset look ruled the roost, is now returning with a vengeance.
Just as Madonna has returned to chart success in recent years, so the corset has also enjoyed a resurgence - despite the queen of pop no longer wearing one.
As such, the New York Fashion Week promises to see plenty of corset-inspired pieces.
