Corsets tipped as summer trend-setter
January 22, 2007
Corsets and lingerie could become a big part of the fashion scene in 2007, according to reports, with underwear increasing being worn as outerwear.
Trend setting Indian designers are predicting that bustiers and corsets will become popular items of clothing for going out in this summer, with the promise of warmer weather also encouraging bright and warm colours.
According to the Indo-Asian News Service (Ians), Fashion designer Ashish Soni believes that deep reds, yellows and gold colours will dominate the summer season, taking over from the lighter tones that are traditionally favoured.
Stylish cuts and fabrics that are now common among quality corsets mean that they are beginning to be noticed more and more as fashion items in their own right.
It seems that gone are the days when corsets were just the shape-giving undergarments of women's fashion.
Now, the sensuality and style of corsets are pushing them to the fore of the fashion world.
