Corsets top vampires for Halloween fancy dress

Children's fashions for fancy dress costumes on Halloween is changing, according to an executive at the Disney Store.
Whereas vampire and witch costumes used to be the mainstay of every child's trick or treat costume, children are increasingly dressing up as their favourite cartoon characters, replacing capes with corsets.
As a result, the number of pirates and princesses sporting mini-corsets rather than zombies or ghosts this year is expected to be one of the highest ever.
"Classic character costumes such as princesses have been redesigned to more closely match the Disney film characters that kids love," said Amy Hauk, senior vice president and general merchandising manager for the Disney Store.
She said that Cinderella and Belle costumes have been redesigned with elegant gowns and even small corsets to let little girls dress up as their favourite cartoon characters.
Meanwhile, the much anticipated release of Marie Antoinette, making its UK premier on February 2nd 2007, is also expected to result in an increase in the number of corseted Halloween costumes.
