Danes dons corset for Stardust role

Claire Danes has revealed that she had to wear a corset for her latest film role, but it wasn't a traditional corset dress like she wore in blockbuster Romeo and Juliet, but a special made to measure corset as the character she plays is a star.
Speaking to the Globe and Mail, Ms Danes explained that her character in the drama, Yvaine, is an actual star, which has fallen from the sky.
"I wouldn't have called it," she said of her unusual role. "But I had a good time doing it."
The story, based on a novel by Neil Gaiman, tells of a lost star, confused after landing on Earth, who has to escape the clutches of a heart-eating witch, played by Michelle Pfeiffer. Robert De Niro, Sienna Miller and British actor Charlie Cox also feature.
Danes says of her character: "She's millions of years old, she's very sophisticated in some ways and she has observed human behaviour from a distance. B ut she's actually very inexperienced, has never had to live and doesn't know what it is to feel."
She added that she "loved" her star costume, which was a silvery, loose garment for the first half of the film, which she later swaps for a corset as the movie continues.
