Dita drops in to Oz on giant lipstick
May 2, 2007
Burlesque diva Dita Von Teese stunned the VIP crowd at Australian Fashion Week with a piece of performance art which involved her sitting astride a nine-foot long lipstick.
Arriving on stage in a fully-sequinned cowgirl outfit, complete with the ubiquitous corset so beloved of the star and matched with hat, chaps and gloves, Ms Von Teese wowed an audience of 200 at the Zimmermann show.
Parading with a pair of toy pistols, Ms Von Teese unlaced her sparkly pink corset to reveal nothing put a pair of star-shaped tassels. She then finished the performance by mounting a 'bucking bronco' lipstick, in a sensational finale that Sydney will not soon forget.
Although some eyebrows were raised at the nature of the performance, the burlesque beauty was doing it all in the name of a good cause. She is currently promoting a range of lipstick, the proceeds of which are donated to research for AIDS and HIV.
Dita fans can catch the corseted entertainer again, when she is a guest at the Ginger & Smart, Fleur Wood and Josh Goot shows.
