Dita Von Teese to perform at Eurovision
May 1, 2009
Well-known corset wearer Dita Von Teese is to perform at this year's Eurovision Song Contest.
The burlesque dancer, who has become synonymous with wearing elaborate corsets, will be on stage with Germany's entrant Alex Swings Oscar Sings.
She is one of a number of big-names taking to the stage this year, including the UK's Andrew Lloyd Webber, who it is rumoured will be playing the piano with British entrant Jade Ewen.
Dita told Germany's Bild newspaper: "I feel honoured to appear with Alex and Oscar at the Grand Prix in Moscow. I hope that our collaboration will win."
Last year, Germany's entrance ended in 23rd place and gained only 14 points from European voters.
However, it seems the country's chances of winning have received a boost by the news, with Rupert Adams from William Hill suggesting that Germany was now a "genuine contender" to win the show in the Russian capital.
