Dyke March sees lesbian corset action
June 25, 2007
San Francisco's 15th annual Dyke March attracted tens of thousands of gay women at the weekend, with colourful clothing emblazoned by pro-lesbian slogans to be seen among the crowds.
Women gathered in Dolores Park for four hours of celebrations culminating in a mile-long march to the Castro.
Among the headline acts, Pride Weekend performer Anita Cocktail was wearing an outlandish costume which incorporated a corset.
While she posed for photos in a corset and pink beehive combo, she held a giant martini glass.
Although the Dyke March is known for its outrageous costumes, it is also known for people to wear even less than a corset in a bid to promote lesbian pride.
For the ladies who had dressed up, t-shirts with slogans such as 'I like girls who like girls' and 'I love my girlfriend' proved as popular as ever.
