From mum's bras to lingerie corsets

While burlesque dancer Dita von Teese is more known these days for wearing lingerie corsets, in her younger days she could have been found parading round in her mother's bras.
She told the Independent: "I'd always loved lingerie. I used to go into my mother's lingerie drawer and steal her lingerie and try it on. I still have a bra that I stole from her. It's from Fredericks of Hollywood and it's a Seventies classic. It's a black, open-breast bra. I love it."
She also explained about the first corset she ever owned. "I longed for one and the people in the lingerie shop told me to go to this place where I walked in and it was a hard-core fetish store full of leather and stockings and gloves," Ms von Teese said.
"I ordered my corset and started looking around at some of the magazines and they were sort of rough and not very stylish and no one was dressing in a pin-up style. I thought it would be really cool to bring it back."
Although the burlesque star says she has her own preferences in male underwear, telling the Independent "I've never had a boyfriend who was a tighty whitey kind of guy," she adds, however, "There's a fetish for everything. Believe me, there is."
