Glamour and corsets tipped for wedding style
January 23, 2007
Wedding dresses will all be about glamour and style in 2007, wedding fashion experts have said, with corset and mermaid inspired styles tipped for big things.
According to Isabel Traher, co-ordinator of the renowned London Bridal Show, wedding day fashion is moving away from the simplicity of recent years, with more embellished styles coming to the fore.
Speaking to the London Free Press, Traher commented: "This year, there's a general trend back to adornment and embellishment, with lots of fine, crystal trim on bodices, veils and hem lines."
She added that the classic A-line or mermaid gown look would be a popular choice, but with corset-like adaptations and lace-up backs a popular variation, giving it a more modern feel.
"This year, the modified mermaid gown is a key trend," Traher added.
"This newest variation on the mermaid dress is fitted to the hip. It's form fitting and sexy, but may be a little easier to wear for some women."
