Jamelia lays down corset ban
October 16, 2007
Pop star Jamelia will not let the corset-loving Pussycat Dolls' music be played in her house, even though she loves the girl group.
It seems that the corsets are too raunchy and the lyrics too steamy to be shown and played in front of the singer's two young daughters.
She suggested that the corset costumes, short skirts and other burlesque wear that the group sports, along with the saucy dance moves, might influence Teja, under ten, and Tiani, nearly two, inappropriately.
Jamelia is convinced that they will become fans and is scared they might try to copy the girls.
"My confession is I'm a huge, huge Pussycat Dolls fan," she admitted. "But they are banned in my house because I don't want my daughters to be like them."
"But I absolutely love them, and think they are great," she conceded "I just don't want my daughters singing their songs or writhing round like burlesque dancers!"
Meanwhile one of the corset fans is going solo, with Pussycat Dolls' lead singer Nicole Scherzinger set to release her debut album, called Her Name is Nicole, on November 5th.
