Jennifer Garner reveals corset secret
October 1, 2007
Actress Jennifer Garner has revealed that she does not have the perfect figure and often relies on a corset to get into glamorous gowns.
Ms Garner, whose new film, The Kingdom, has just been released, told Marie Claire that a corset was helpful for taming her figure.
She told the magazine of the designer dresses she wears at the Oscars: "I usually feel like, no matter how many girdles they put me in, they'll not be able to zip this. They always say to you, as though it should make you happy, 'This is fresh from the runway'.
"But what I think is, 'That was made for some 14-year-old girl from Russia! It was not made to go on my body.'"
A corset will have been particularly useful to the 35-year-old after giving birth to a baby, though Violet is now 22 months old. She said she loved nursing her while a newborn. "I really loved it. It gave me peace and a sense of purpose," the actress said.
The Alias star added: "My job is great to have as a mom. I get to take long breaks and then work hard in a really concentrated way."
