Kylie celebrates 20-year career
August 6, 2007
Kylie Minogue has celebrated 20 years since her first single entered the charts, proving that she is as sexy today in a corset top as she was in her eighties pop gear.
The corset-loving superstar marked her anniversary in style with dinner and dancing in London, joined by friends including Jason Donavan, Natalie Imbruglia and sister Dannii.
Kylie first hit the charts in 1987 with a cover version of Little Eva's The Locomotion and since then she has sold more than 65 million records all over the world.
After a posh dinner at the Fulham Palace hotel, Kylie and friends headed to the Movida nightclub, where the pop princess reportedly ran up a bar tab of $12,500 and danced until 4am.
There were no corsets in sight tonight however, as the star dined in a white toga-style dress then changed into a short purple outfit for clubbing.
Onstage at the nightclub, Kylie could not hold back the tears as her long-term manager, Terry Blamey, gave a speech in tribute to the "sexy and strong" singer. But the tears soon stopped when the DJ indulged played a medley of '80s chart-toppers to celebrate Kylie's anniversary.
