July 3, 2007
Kylie Minogue will display a selection of the costumes that she has worn during her career, including a very famous corset that she wore on tour.
Kylie: The Exhibition will arrive at Manchester Art Gallery before it travels to Kelvingrove in Glasgow for four months, having already been displayed at London's V&A Museum.
The exhibition features a recreation of Kylie's dressing room and 40 outfits and accessories will be on display along with 60 photographs and more than 100 pieces of album artwork.
It will also chart Kylie's career as an actress as well as her singing role, with the overalls she wore as Charlene Mitchell in soap opera Neighbours displayed alongside the white dress she wore in the video for her first single, I Should Be So Lucky.
Items from her time as a global superstar will include an infamous pair of gold lame hotpants and the crystal-studded corset she wore during her Showgirl tour.
"I have always enjoyed my visits to Manchester, especially in the last decade performing at the MEN Arena," Kylie said in the Manchester Evening News. "It's wonderful to be part of the city's lively programme of cultural events for the summer."
