LVG on the hunt for new corseted recruits
October 26, 2006
As Halloween approaches the number of vampires, ghouls and goblins on the streets of London is set to soar.
But anyone interested in playing a vampire on a more permanent basis be warned; the London Vampyre Group (LVG) is after you.
Boasting a fetish for stick-on fangs, corsets and gothic clothes, the LVG are on the prowl for new recruits, so any corset-sporting nightwalkers are welcome to apply.
Formed 12 years ago as an offshoot of the Dracula Society, LVG members are more concerned with exploring the romantic portrayal of Vampires rather than the terrifying creatures of popular legend.
With costumes that include corsets, bustles and PVC outfits for the women, and more archetypal cinematic costumes for the men, the LVG are known for their bat spotting nights, trips to Transylvania and wild parties.
And anyone interested in joining the LVG can look forward to the Whitby Halloween Goth Ball, where Bram Stoker was inspired to write his classic novel Dracula, and trips to New Orleans, the setting for Interview with the Vampire, and the Czech Republic's ossuaries and gothic castles.
