For the ultimate Christmas party outfit, sequins and bold prints are hot this year, according to one celebrity stylist.
Fashion and beauty expert Nicky-Hambleton-Jones suggests investing in party corsets that suit personal style rather than match what has been featured on the catwalks.
The former 10 Years Younger host said: "The most important thing is not to focus on trends but to invest in a trend that you actually love because that is going to make you want to wear them and create your own individual style.
"You can never go wrong with colour, something colourful is not driven by fashion it is always going to make you stand out and you can always carry it through the season."
Vogue reported that dazzling party corsets with plenty of sequins and glitter are key for this year's festive wear, as well as combining textures such as feathers and leather.
The fashion bible's recent Business Report revealed that more than half of Brits believe it is important to remain stylish despite the recession.
