Rock stars to launch burlesque club
May 18, 2007
Two of the UK's biggest rock stars are to launch a burlesque club, where there will no doubt be plenty of corsets on show.
Former Police frontman Sting is teaming up with fellow icon of British music, David Bowie, to open a burlesque club in New York.
According to the New York Observer, the two stars have bought a restaurant space in the city and are planning to transform it into a nightclub and burlesque spot that will focus on "the girls and the dancing".
So you can be sure there'll be plenty of corsets on show at the club once it's up and running, as well as some pretty good music to go with it, given the proprietors' knowledge of the industry.
The two stars are understood to be working with club owner Ivan Kane, who already owns burlesque clubs in Los Angeles and Las Vegas.
It is reported that as much as $4 million is being put into the New York spot to make it a top attraction.
