Scottish club tribute to burlesque fan
May 23, 2007
Images of the late Valentina Puddu will be projected around a burlesque-themed night at Edinburgh's Club Ego as a tribute to the lady who loved dressing up.
A charity worker by day, Ms Puddu loved dressing up in corsets and tassles at night when she hit the clubs in the city, which was her home for the past ten years.
Tragically, the 27-year-old lost her life in a car accident while visiting Sardinia but friends will celebrate her love of burlesque during a one-off event on June 22nd, the Scotsman reports.
The Sleek club night will see many corseted bodies dancing as burlesque performances are put on in tribute to Valentina.
Sleek's joint-organiser Jeannie Stirling said: "Valentina was an amazing, positive and upbeat lady, and she was the epitome of burlesque glamour.
"This night was inspired as a tribute to her. The problem with a lot of burlesque shows is that they're cabaret, and I wanted to do an actual dance night that was fit for Valentina.
"I think it will attract a wide variety of people from all different walks of life, just like Valentina did."
Corseted professional burlesque acts will perform to music from the modern era with DJs including Kev Wright and Ricky Palys.
