Students put music into corsets
February 12, 2007
A group of students from the King Edward Upper School in Bury St Edmunds have been creating their own corsets, using inspiration taken from musicals.
As part of a fashion show, the A-level students decided to make costumes for a fashion show, based on their favourite musicals. A number chose to design and create their own corsets, although this proved a tricky task.
"The hardest part to make was probably the corset - it took a few weeks," Emily Sim, whose outfit was inspired by the Phantom of the Opera, told the East Anglian Daily Times.
Her experience demonstrates the difficulties and intricacies of making a corset, highlighting the fact that, for that instant sensual look, buying a corset can be a more practical approach for most people.
