Iconic corset recreated for Beyonce

Iconic corset recreated for Beyonce
December 3, 2008

Beyonce Knowles is such a style icon that a memorable corset from pop culture history is to be recreated especially for her.

The iconic creation in question is the eye-catching motorcycle corset and bustier featuring a motorcycle handle design at the front which was worn by a supermodel in the 1992 music video to George Michael's hit Too Funky.

Like many of her peers, Beyonce, who is already an avid lover of corsets and regularly wears them in her dramatic stage shows, remembers falling in love with the corset when she was younger.

She is therefore thrilled to have it recreated for her by designer Thierry Mugler, who was known for power-dressing important women such as Diana Ross, Jerry Hall and Ivana Trump in the 1980s.

Beyonce said: "I'm so excited. I want him to do everything.

"There was the one robot corset that I really wanted, but I couldn't get it. So he'll make me my own, which is even better."
