Corset-wearing Claudia 'was too curvy for catwalk'

Claudia Schiffer may be slim by most people's standards, but the veteran supermodel has revealed that when she first took to the catwalk the tailors had to open up her corsets because she was too curvy.
No doubt the 38-year-old German-born beauty's ample curves looked spectacular in the overbust corsets she modelled and earned the designers in question vast amounts of publicity, but she recently explained that she was completely different to traditional models.
Speaking to Vogue magazine, Claudia said: "Catwalk models were traditionally very boyish.
"All I remember is the exasperated tailor who kept complaining, 'I don't know what to do with the bust. The corset doesn't fit, nothing closes, we'll have to open everything up.' "
Claudia also revealed recently that she has kept many of the gorgeous outfits that she has modelled over her 20-year career and she has so many clothes that she stores them in a helicopter hangar.
