What is the most difficult aspect of the industry?
I find the difficulty comes from the uncertainty of your income! Living as an artist has it’s waves, but trusting in your work and working hard, always pays off.
What advice would you give to anybody wanting to join the industry?
Take classes, reach out to mentors, go to as many shows as possible, meet the industry and community, trust in your voice, create create create!
What is the best thing aspect of a Burlesque show?
My favourite thing is being able to change the status quo of being a smart, independent, artistic, stripping woman in our society. By doing so, by having a strong voice, we can give others permission to do the same. They might not need to strip to express it, but by owning their sexuality, creativity and power, there is change.
Do you have a burlesque icon inspiration?
I have SO many, but the ones that slow burn and channel deep goddess energy are my favorite for that reason. Michelle L’amour as always been an inspiration to me, and always will be.
